JAMES P. KING
HENDERSON - James Pettis “Pet” King, 85, formerly of Norlina and Warrenton, died Thursday, Oct. 26, in Louisburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Wise Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Milton Abbott and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.

Born in Warren County, he was the son of the late Thomas Lee and Annie Wortham King. He was a retired warehouse manager with Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company and was a US Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving: daughters, Elizabeth King Greenway of Henderson and James King O’Neal of Warrenton; a sister, Lenora King Turner of Victorville, Calif.; a brother, Clifton King of Fullerton, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward King and Herbert King; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends at the home of Charlie and Elizabeth Greenway, 8304 N.C. Highway 39 S., Henderson (in the Epsom Community).
