ARCHIBALD S. RAY JR.
ZEBULON - Archibald Sereno “Archie” Ray Jr., 94, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 15) at Zebulon United Methodist Church, 121 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon. Burial will be in Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh.

He was born in Red Springs to the late Archibald S. Ray Sr. and Maude Harris Ray. He received his electrical engineering degree from N.C. State University and retired with 37 years of service with Southern Bell (now AT&T).

Surviving: wife, Blanche Horton Ray; daughter, Serrena R. Pearce (Clyde) of Zebulon; son, Stanley H. Ray (Maryann) of Mount Holly; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zebulon United Methodist Church in Archie’s memory.
