PASTOR DAN WALSER
WINSTON-SALEM —Pastor Dan Walser, 72, of Hopewell Church Road, died Friday evening, Oct. 28, 2011 at Forsyth Medical.  A funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 30, at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome with the Rev. Avery Varnadore officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

Pastor Dan was born in Davidson County to Archie Jackson Walser and Ruby Tussey Walser, who preceded him in death. He was a member and associate pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Pastor Dan also founded and was pastor for 27 years at Grace Baptist Church in Louisburg. He was the former owner of Dan’s Barbeque in Welcome and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. 

Surviving: wife, Joyce Marlene Love Walser of the home; his daughters Lisa Clonch (Robert) of Lexington, and Denise Carr (Marty) of Winston- Salem; a brother Randy Walser of Lexington; two sisters, Deanna Merritt and Joanie Lookabill, both of Lexington; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund, 267 Meadowview Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
