GEORGE A. CARAPELLE
ZEBULON - The Rev. George Anthony Carapelle, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Heritage Baptist Church, Zebulon, with the Rev. David Dupree officiating.

He was born in Yonkers, N.Y. to the late Angelo Nazarene Carapelle and Catherine DiGiacome Carapelle. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served as pastor of Westview Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, among others.

Surviving: wife, Patricia Brannen Carapelle; daughters, Catherine C. Strawn (Philip) of Vestal, N.Y., Donna C. Gray (Robert) of Liverpool, Pa., Beverly Carapelle of Zebulon; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Peck Carapelle; a daughter, Georgette; a brother and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bibles International, 609 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548-2317.
