NELLIE M. DEAN
LOUISBURG - Nellie Murray Dean, 99, of Louisburg died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Louisburg Nursing Center.  She was a longtime active member of Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, working for many years with the GA’s.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Elmo Dean; her daughter, Emily Dean Parrish; her brothers, Johnny, Jack, Lucas, Herman, Spencer, Floyd, George & Walter Dean; her sisters, Christine Fuller and Alice Duncan.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Dean Family Cemetery on Hwy 56 E. near the home, with the Rev. Jay Caudill and the Rev. Robert Ricks Boone officiating. 

She is survived by her daughter, Martha D. Collette and husband, Dan of Louisburg; her sister, Sallie Smith of Louisburg; grandchildren, Vicki Perry Grossman, Cathy Harvell, Melissa Collette Hodges, Sharon Collette Thompson and Dana Collette Gupton; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, 4879 NC Hwy 56 E., Castalia, NC  27816.  Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
