MIDDLESEX – Peggy Sue Alford Braxton, 64, died Saturday at home with her family. Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, with entombment following in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
She was born in Cumberland County to the late Benjamin Carlton and Katie L. Parnell Alford. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Braxton.
Surviving: her sons, William Knight (Kim) of Wendell, Wayne Knight (Andrea) of Zebulon, and Gary Knight (Mary Chapman) of Rocky Mount; stepson, Jimmy Braxton (Angie) of Fuquay; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Friends of Hospice, c/o Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
