JAMES J. STEPHENS SR.
FRANKLINTON —James Jefferson Stephens Sr., 88, died Monday, March 26, 2012. Funeral services were held Friday, March 30, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road, Raleigh. Burial, with Masonic services, was held at Brier Creek Memorial Park, Durham.

Born in Raleigh, he was the son of the late Henry Roger and Mary Ethel Stephens. He was retired from Southern Bell Telephone after 40 years of service.

Surviving: daughters, Mary Ann Branch (Freddy) of Raleigh, Helen Denise Perry of Franklinton; sons, James Stephens (Polly) of Franklinton, Donald Stephens (Rita) of Raleigh, Robert Earl Stephens of Franklinton and Roy Stephens (Jennifer) of Wendell; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
