ALICE M. JOURNIGAN
WAKE FOREST - Alice Moore “Big Mama” Journigan, 97, died Monday morning, May 21, 2012. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 24, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. Burial followed in Forestville Baptist Church cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Cora Moore. She attended Forestville Baptist Church as long as her health allowed where she was active in the WMU and served on various committees.

She was predeceased by her husband, Genie Morris Journigan, who was killed in an auto accident in 1948; a son, Genie M. Journigan Jr.; sisters, Katherine Tart and Lizzie Williams; brothers, Thomas Moore and Joseph T. Moore; and by a grandson.

Surviving: children, Alice Clements (Billie) of Biloxi, Miss., Emma Cates (Garland) of Durham, Bettie Garner, Peggie Bobbitt and Gaylor Journigan, all of Wake Forest, Frances Smith (Ralph) of Louisburg, and Janice Gaddy (Al) of Raleigh; sister, Mary Frances Bradford of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
