BOYD F. MERRITT JR.
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - Boyd Franklin “Frank” Merritt Jr., 61, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 at his residence. A memorial was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Covenant Life Church of Sumerville, S. C. Burial was private.

Mr. Merritt was born in Burlington, N. C., son of Thelma Coleman Merritt of Franklinton and the late Boyd F. Merritt Sr. He was retired from the U. S. Marine Corps after 21 years of service. He worked for the Department of Defense Police on the Naval Weapons Station.

Surviving: his wife, Kathy Earldean Merritt; one son, Corey Merritt (Debbie) of Pinopolis, S.C.; daughters, Kelly Brandt (Roy) of Ridgeville, S.C., Wendy Suehl (Fred) of North Charleston, S.C., and Tracy Mann (Michael) of Moncks Corner, S.C.; sisters, Jean Saunders of Raleigh and Rose Stroud of Franklinton; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave., Ste. 101, North Charleston, SC 29405.
