LAVERN J. WHITE
YOUNGSVILLE —LaVerne Jones White, 85, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at WakeMed in Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Julian Motley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Turner Myrick Jones and Madie Grace Averette Jones of Rolesville. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as the Sunday School teacher of the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class for many years. She was owner and operator of LaVerne’s Hairstyling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry White. She is survived by three sons and one daughter:  William Phillip White (Lyndell), Curtis Allen White (Nancy), Eddie Vernon White (Nancy), Starlette Cyrus (Dennis); 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 63, Youngsville, NC 27596.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest, NC 27587, and at the home of Starlette and Dennis Cyrus at other times.
