PERRY W. CURRIN
HENDERSON - Perry Williams Currin, 84, died Friday, Nov. 16 2012 at Maria Parham Medical Center.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Weldon Currin and Maude West Currin. He was the widower of Martha Stanley Currin.

Mr. Currin was a retired employee of Henderson Grocery Inc. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher and deacon.

A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at West End Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ralph McGowan. A private burial was held at Elmwood Cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Carol C. Weaver and Patsy C. Pegram, both of Henderson; sons, Dennis P. Currin of Oxford, J. Stuart Currin of Louisburg, Steven W. Currin of Conway S.C.; sisters, Mabel C. Edwards of Wake Forest, Frances C. Faulkner of Richmond, Va.; brother, W.A. Currin of Henderson; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Cecil Currin; and two sisters, Sally Lou C. Wood and Evelyn C. Bailey.

The family will receive friends at the home of Layton and Carol Weaver, 1339 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Raleigh, NC Office, 2418 Blue Ridge Rd. suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607; or to the Governor Morehead School for the Blind, 301 Ashe Ave., Raleigh, NC 27606.
