HUBERT “TOMMIE” JEFFREYS
LOUISBURG - Hubert Devan “Tommie” Jeffreys, 81, of Louisburg died suddenly Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Rex Hospital.

Born September 7, 1925, Mr. Jeffreys was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, where he founded D&J Automotive, LLC in 1963. Mr. Jeffreys was an active member of both the North Carolina Automobile Dealer’s Association and the National Automobile Dealer’s Association. Former President of the Louisburg Lions Club and Franklin County Shrine Club, Mr. Jeffreys made many contributions to charitable causes throughout North Carolina.

Mr. Jeffreys was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Hubert Jeffreys, and two brothers, Aubrey Jeffreys of Bunn and Horace Jeffreys of Raleigh.

Mr. Jeffreys is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Louise Pearce Jeffreys; his only child, Phyllis Jeffreys Culbreth and her husband, Carson Douglas Culbreth, of Raleigh; three granddaughters, Phyllis Devan Culbreth, Lou Carson Culbreth, and Dianna Douglas Culbreth, all of Raleigh; a sister, Geraldine Jeffreys Davis, of Raleigh; a brother, D. R. Jeffreys and his wife, Phyllis Jeffreys, of Bunn; nieces, Carol Ingram and her husband, Hal Ingram, and Stacey Ingram, all of Raleigh; and many other nieces and nephews.

The family received family and friends at Lancaster Funeral Home in Louisburg from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 8. Funeral services were held at Lancaster Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9. Entombment was at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tommie Jeffreys to Louisburg Baptist Church, P. O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549 or the Franklin County Shrine Club.
