ROY H. ALFORD
RALEIGH - Roy Hines Alford, 94, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at his home.  A funeral service was held  Tuesday, April 2, at Highland United Methodist Church in Raleigh, where he was a founding member. Interment followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was born in Franklin County to the late Joseph Lee Alford and Pattie Lois Wynne. He served his country during World War II as a Machinist’s Mate Third Class on the USS Jobb DE 707. He was  an employee of Electrical Equipment Co. for 41 years, ultimately becoming shop foreman. He was preceded in death by six siblings and one grandson.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Margaret Moss Alford, are his children, Nancy Reichenbach of Mooresville, Ann Althoff of Atlanta, Ga., and Carol Blue of Raleigh; brother, Eugene Alford; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
