JOHNNY W. VAUGHAN
FRANKLINTON —Johnny Weldon Vaughan, 68, died Monday, April 8, 2013. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton, with the Rev. Dr. David Averette officiating.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of Sarah Jackson Vaughan and the late Linwood Henderson Vaughan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines where he served in the Vietnam War. He began his law enforcement career with the Franklinton Police Department and was retired from the NC State Highway Patrol with over 20 years of service.

Surviving: daughter, Tracy Vaughan of Sims; his mother, Sarah Vaughan of Franklinton; stepdaughters, Christie Woodard (Craig) of Raleigh and Teresa Parrish (Harold) of Wilson; sister, Dedra Bragg of Franklinton; brother, Jimmy Vaughan of Franklinton; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
