DR. HENRY F. HOLT
YOUNGSVILLE - Dr. Henry F. Holt, 69, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m, on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC Hwy 231 in Wendell.  Burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 West Gannon Avenue in Zebulon.

He was a native of Johnston County. He was a Little League baseball coach for nine years.  He went on to become a high school teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent. Dr. Holt retired in 2004 as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Franklin County Schools.  He continued to be an active board member of the United Way of Franklin County.  He served 15 years as a high school principal in Johnston, Jones and Harnett counties. Prior to his administrative roles, he was a teacher and coach at Smithfield-Selma Senior High School.

Surviving: wife, Dorcas B. Holt; daughter Dawn Hall of Raleigh; stepdaughter Karen Norris of Wilmington; four grandsons; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, James C. and Myrtie M. Holt; his daughter, Donna Holt; siblings Ed Holt, Clarence Holt, Earl Holt, Howard Holt, Doris H. Richardson, Ann H. Hall, and Maxine Holt.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1599 NC Hwy 231 in Wendell, and other times at Dr. Holt’s home.

Flowers accepted or contributions can be made to the building funds of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Youngsville Baptist Church.  Contributions can also be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Dr. Holt’s memory.
