JOHN (VAL) VALOVICH
LOUISBURG - John (Val) Valovich, 70, formerly of Hazleton, Pa., died Tuesday unexpectedly in Hazle Township, Pa. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Pa., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums, at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, West Hazleton.  Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.  

Born in West Hazleton, Pa., he was the son of the late Leo Sr. and Elizabeth (Lodderhose) Valovich and spent the past 3 years living in Louisburg, after moving from Hazleton.

Prior to his retirement, he was a loader operator for H&K, Inc. and was also employed as a driver and machine operator for Slusser Hauling.

John was a member of the White Level Lions Club in Louisburg.  He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a daughter, Debra Ann Valovich, and a brother, Leo Valovich Jr.

Surviving: wife, the former Lillian Lengen; four children, Pamela Valovich, Wilson, NC; Johnny Valovich, Hazleton, Pa.; Michael Valovich (Kelly) of Hazle Township, Pa., Mark J. Valovich (Renee) of Stroudsburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations can be made to the NEPA Survivors, c/o Susquehanna Bank, 781 Airport Road, Hazle Township, PA 18202 or the Hazleton Animal Shelter, 101 N. Poplar Street, Hazleton, Pennsylvania 18201.
