THOMAS WILSON GAY, JR.
May 24, 1932 – September 29, 2013
SPRING HOPE – Thomas Wilson Gay, Jr., 81, of Spring Hope, died Sunday afternoon at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Thomas Wilson and Lossie Lee Sykes Gay, Sr.  An active member of Holly Grove Baptist Church, Mr. Gay served as a deacon and Choir member for many years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather as well as respected and loved in his community. Mr. Gay is a retired farmer and also worked for Lake Royale Corporation in Franklin County for 21 years.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, at Holly Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Gay is survived by his wife of 56 years, Minnie Lou Lamm Gay; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Kimberly Gay of Pilot; Gordon and Cheryl Gay of Garner; sisters, Dorothy Shearon of Spring Hope and Lillie Mae Terrell of Louisburg; grandchildren, Meredith Gay and Drew McLeod.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wake County and Tony Battle for their loving care and kindness over the past months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1640 Holly Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882.
