ESTA EDGE HUDGINS

LOUISBURG - Esta Edge Hudgins, 86, died Tuesday Sept. 9, 2014 at Rex Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Clarendon, N.C., daughter of the late Bertha Harrelson Edge and Charles Marion Edge Sr., and was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Griffin. She was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving: husband, Ron R. Hudgins; her children, Michael “Mickey” Allen (Carolyn) of Oxford, Miss., Melanie Upton (Bruce) of Garner, Mitch Allen (Sandy) of Fuquay- Varina; sisters, Thelma Doares of Lumberton and Ora Lee Grimsley of Elliott City, Md.; brother, Charles Edge of Loris, SC; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flat Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 1529 Flat Rock Church Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.

Friends may visit with the family from 7-9 Friday evening, Sept. 12, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main St., Wake Forest.
