LOUISBURG - Vernon Moyer Wilkins, 79, of Louisburg, NC died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.
A native of Baker, WV, Mr. Wilkins was in retail store management, retiring in 1993. He has lived in Louisburg for the past 28 years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Genevieve; his children, James H. Wilkins and wife, Resa L. Harris of Charlotte; Gloria Watson and husband, Bob of Powder Springs, GA; Jerry M. Wilkins and wife, Patricia of Greenville, NC; Rodney V. Wilkins and companion, Arlevia Howell, of Louisburg; sister, Una Teets of Baker, WV; grandchildren, Brian and Tony Watson, Chad Wilkins, Kelly and Kayla Blevins, Kimberly and Cody Howell; six great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Sneakers.
Private services will be held at a later date in Baker, WV.

The family would like to express appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Franklin Regional Medical Center for their excellent care during Mr. Wilkins’ illness.
