FRANKLINTON --Alfreda Denise Spivey-Evans, 51, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at her home in Franklinton. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at Popes Chapel United Church of Christ, Franklinton, with the Rev. Leroy Duke officiating.

She was born to the late George Thomas Crudup and Matlean Kearney. She graduated from Franklinton High School and later received a diploma in cosmetology at Miller-Motte College of Raleigh. She worked at ABB in Raleigh until she retired.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Faye; and two brothers, Joseph Derrick and Lewis Spivey.

Surviving: husband, Macon Evans Sr. of the home; daughters, Shawnda (David) of Zebulon and Delila (Lewis) of Pilot; son, Macon Jr. "Rockman" of the home; mother and stepfather, Matlean and Floyd Kearney of Franklinton; sister, Alicia (Lee) Simmons of Raleigh; brothers, Frank (Shirley) of Henderson, Alfred (Sharron) of Franklinton, Joseph (Contina) of Raleigh, and Kelvin of New York; and eight grandchildren; and a special nephew.
