LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Shirley A. Alston, 51, who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Mitchiner's Grove Baptist Church in Franklinton, with Pastor Malvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, Shwana Long and Christina Alston, both of the home; sisters, Amy Alston Arrington of Louisburg, Bobbie Jean Cosby of Richmond, Va., Jennifer Lawton and Lynisha Davis, both of Hopewell, Va.; brother, Robert N. Alston of Oxford; and one grandson.
Open visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to the Mitchiner's Grove Church Building Fund.
