HOWARD CARDEN
August 25, 1925 - June 21, 2015

Howard Carden, 89, of the Justice Community, died Sunday morning.

Mr. Carden was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca P. Carden. He was a W.W.II Navy Veteran, and the oldest living member of the American Legion Post in Louisburg. He was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church, an original member of the Justice Volunteer Fire Department, and retired manager of McCracken Oil Company.

Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Duke Memorial Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends following the committal service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Carden is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jo Anne and Butch Horton of Pilot; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky Carden of Lake Royale; Howard Lee and Becky Carden of Justice; grandchildren, Rob Horton (Leslie); Steven Horton (Steph); Justin Carden; Allison Carden Hamm; Joseph Carden; David Carden and Reuben Carden; great-grandson, Brantley Horton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3976 NC 581 Hwy. N., Spring Hope, NC 27882.
