WILLIAM C. “BILL” KOENCK
LEESVILLE, Va. - Funeral services for William Charles “Bill” Koenck, 77, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Labby Memorial Chapel in Leesville, Va., with the Rev. Gary Archbald officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville.

Mr. Koenck died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the Dubuis Care Center in Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Va.

He was born in Boyer, Iowa to Emil Charles and Marie Amelia Wiese Koenck He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948. After serving for 21 years, he retired an E-7 in 1969, and later retired from the U.S. Civil Service. Mr. Koenck was a businessman in the Leesville/Pickering area.

Surviving: his wife, Johnnie Peavy Koenck; children, Billy Koenck of Angier, Diane Koenck of Louisburg, Chuck Koenck of Youngsville, Terry Paliwod of Houston, Mike Paliwoda (Debbie) of Houston, Tonya Mckee (James), Edwin Koenck (Leslie), all of Leesville; siblings, Eileen Greer (Lyle) of Surprise, Ariz., Robert Koenck (Barbara) of Bonita Springs, Fla., Loyal Koenck (Susie) of Indianola, Iowa, Merlyn Koenck of Minneapolis, Minn., Jeanne Larkin (Larry) of Blue Earth, Minn., Larry Koenck of Eagan, Minn., David Koenck (Kathy) of Bloomington, Minn., Kay Steinberg (Chuck) of Rapid City, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Koenck of Oregon, Ill; sister, Gail Koenck Camelin of Glendale, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 4) at Labby Memorial Chapel in Leesville, Va.
