CARLTON G. EAVES

HENDERSON - Carlton Gill Eaves, 88, of 8543 NC Hwy 39 S., Henderson, NC (in the Epsom Community) died Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Perry Gill and Drucilla Tharrington Eaves.

Mr. Eaves was a retired Supervisor and Buyer at Lorillard Tobacco Company, farmer, and carpenter. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church and the John H. Mills Masonic Lodge #624.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., at Liberty Christian Church, conducted by Bro. Jim Curtis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-seven years, Betsy Coker Eaves; a daughter, Lisa E. Clifton (Avery) of Epsom; three sons, Glenn Eaves (Alexis) of Raleigh, James "Jimmy" Eaves (Kelly) of Epsom, and Tom Eaves (Betty) of Epsom; two sisters, Erma Wynne of Epsom and Jo Ann Wells of Raleigh; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Peggy Eaves.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. All other times, they will be at the home.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Eaves, Tony Eaves, Randy Kearney, Charles Hilliard, Jonathan Renn, James Knight, Wayne Stegall, and Jeffrey Edwards. Members of John H. Mills Masonic Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church, c/o Mattie May, 1897 Epsom-Rocky Ford Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.
