HOWARD A. TUBMAN

LAKE ROYALE--Howard Alan Tubman, 78, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015. A memorial service honoring Mr. Tubman's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Louisburg United Methodist Church. Friends may visit with the family following the service.

He was born in New Rochelle, N. Y., the son of the late Allan and Ruth Tubman, and was the husband of the late Betty Louise Mead Tubman. He graduated from New Rochelle High School and was a 1959 graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, Ct. He was also an ROTC graduate where he was commissioned an officer in the USAF.

In 1973, following his career in finance, he joined Howland Capital Management, where he remained until he retired in 2003 as a vice president. He perfomed many civic and church duties during his lifetime.

Surviving: son, Alan Whitehill Tubman of Fayette, Maine; daughters, Barbara Graham Davis and Virginia Mead Hobson, both of Wake Forest; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Constance Wilkerson of Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg United Methodist Church, 402 North Main Street, Louisburg, NC 27549.
