JOSEPH WAYNE COLLINS SR.
CASTALIA—Joseph Wayne Collins Sr., age 90, died Saturday April 14, 2007. Mr. Collins was born September 14, 1916 in Nash Co. to the late Ernest Hampton and Addie Blackwell Collins. He was preceded in death by his sister; Irene Braziel, and brothers; Edwin Collins and Eugene Collins.

Mr. Collins was a retired Rural Mail Carrier for 46 years and a member of Castalia Baptist Church and Birchwood Country Club. He loved his family and friends which he enjoyed playing golf with.

Mr. Collins was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War II.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife; Pansy Manning Collins of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Kemp Edwards of Castalia, Jamie and Dexter Denton of Nashville, Carolyn and Steve Hinton of Rocky Mount; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Frances Collins of Castalia; grandchildren, Grayson Walker and husband Charlie, Alison Collins, Drew Edwards, and Cameron Collins.

A gathering to celebrate his life was held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 226 S. Barnes St., Nashville, N. C., with the Rev. Chris Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville.

The family received friends from 7 to 8:00 P. M. Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Castalia Baptist Church, P. O. Box 35, Castalia, N. C. 27816.
