JIMMIE D. RAY

YOUNGSVILLE-- Jimmie D. Ray, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at Duke University Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 Wednesday evening, Sept. 7, at New Life Church, 6900 Zebulon Road, Wake Forest, with the Rev. Ron Brisson officiating. Friends may visit with the family following the service.

He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Annie Harris Ray and Jessie Garvie Ray, Sr. and was retired from Lufkin Rule Co. in Apex.

Surviving: his former wife, Lawana Williams; his brother, Donald J. "Bubba" Ray (Ann) of Youngsville; stepdaughter, Lorraine Wade of Raleigh; one granddaughter; two nephews; one niece; six great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jessie Garvie Ray, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lawana Williams, 189 Fish Stallings Road, Youngsville, NC 27596.
