BETTY CASH BUCHANAN

WINTERVILLE - Ms. Betty Cash Buchanan, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

A celebration of life service was held Saturday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jay Buckingham. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Betty, a native of Louisburg, NC, was the daughter of the late Willie Mae and Felton Cash. She received an elementary education degree from East Carolina University. She taught school in Winston-Salem and then in Farmville for 20 years. After her retirement, she lived in Corralitos, CA for several years with her second husband, Charles Buchanan.

In 2011, she made her home in Winterville with her daughters. For many years she was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church and recently had been attending Covenant Church with her daughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Lewis, Jr.; sister, Ann C. Davis; and a brother, C.F. Cash.

She is survived by her: daughters, Beaman Lewis Upchurch and husband, Bill, and Garrett Lewis, all of Winterville; and grandchildren, Jackson and Camryn Upchurch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
