CHARLES H. YAHN

LOUISBURG - Charles Howard Yahn, 85, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate his life.

He was born June 6, 1931 in Pierre, S. D., the son of Sylvester and Elsie Yahn. At a young age, he joined the Navy, where he eventually served during the Korean War.

Surviving: wife, Hawley Yahn; his children, Theresa Eckstrom of Worcester, Mass., Stephen Yahn (Trish) of Havana, Fla., Leslie Yahn of Worcester, Mass., Amy Yahn Black (James) of Durham; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, David.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
