ROY SCOTT BUMGARNER

LOUISBURG- Mr. Roy Scott Bumgarner, 49, a resident of 171 Best View Drive, Louisburg, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home. Born on July 7, 1967 in Roanoke County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Barbara Jean Bumgarner. Scott was a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned a degree in Political Science.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Submarine Service aboard the USS Casimir Pulaski and USS Stonewall Jackson. He was a member of the American Legion in Louisburg.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Louisburg Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Reggie Rushing. Burial with military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, William Paul Bumgarner and fianceƩ Destinie Stanton and Joshua Scott Bumgarner and fianceƩ Megan Lufburrow, all of Kittrell; his granddaughter, Scarlett Elizabeth Bumgarner; and his sister, Shannon Hobbs of Georgia.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. untill 11:00 A.M. at Louisburg Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
