RODERICK T. MORGAN

BUTNER--Roderick Tunnell Morgan, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at Teer Hospice House in Durham. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, conducted by Bishop Jimmy Price.

He was born to the late Richard H. Morgan Sr., and Eleanor Tunnell Morgan in Mannings Township, Spring Hope. He retired from Murdoch Center as Manager of Dietary Food Services after 30 years and 3 months. He was employed with Franklin Veneers for 40 years.

Surviving: wife, Joan Joyner Morgan; daughter, Sandra Morgan Channa of Madison, Miss.; six siblings, Gene Morgan of Richmond, Va., Linda Lindskoog of Atlanta, Ga., Carolyn Shearin (Mickey) of Rocky Mount, Elizabeth Matthews (Sammy) of Knightdale, Gerald Morgan of Louisburg, Derald Morgan of Louisburg; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Elmer Vann Morgan and Richard Harvey Morgan Jr.; sisters Ruth Wernelle Morgan and Eleanor Brooks Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
