BETTY JANE CONKLIN

LOUISBURG--Betty Jane Conklin, age 85, died peacefully on February 25, 2018, in Fayetteville, NC. Betty was born March 14, 1932, in Boone County, WV, the daughter of Walter and Ruth Zornes. Betty raised two sons and worked for the United States Air Force for 33 years, retiring as secretary to the Deputy Secretary of the Air Force at The Pentagon in Washington, DC.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, David Edward Bradley, of Greensboro, NC, and six siblings: Christine, Wanda, Thelma, Imogene, David and John. She is survived by her son, Garry Lee Bradley, of Columbia, SC, and 5 grandchildren: Patrick Bradley, Dannell Johnson, Melissa Bradley-Hill, Paul Bradley, Lorrie Bradley. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Patsy White, of Shelby, NC; and a brother, Paul Zornes, of Williams Mountain, WV.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Sullivan's Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Davis-Melvin Cemetery in White Oak, NC.
