LONNIE THOMAS "TOMMY" WILSON III

YOUNGSVILLE--Tommy Wilson, 76, died at his home on Monday, July 16, 2018 after a battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Rd., Knightdale. Graveside services will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was born in Durham, the oldest of six children, the son of LT and Margie Wilson.

He graduated from Rolesville High School and later became a member of the Raleigh Police Department for 14 years. He eventually left there and became the owner of T & T Carpet Cleaning.

Surviving: his wife, Terry; sons, David, Tony (Amy) and daughters Amber (Wesley), Michelle (Bart); sisters, Sue Wilson and Fran Keith; brothers Leslie Wilson and Jimmy Wilson; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Thomas Wilson IV, and a sister, Alice Faye Keith.

Memorial donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and/or Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
