STEVE CAMERON LEONARD
August 20, 1950 - October 6, 2018

RALEIGH--Steve Cameron Leonard passed away peacefully on October 6th at the age of 68, with his loving wife, Mary, by his bedside. He fought a long, hard battle with heart disease, but won the war, because he's with God now.

He was raised in Franklinton, NC, surrounded by a loving family and many friends. Steve was retired from management in the construction industry. He worked for A. E. Finley & Associates for many years, where he met the woman he would marry and love for the rest of his life.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman who loved golf, hunting and fishing. He was always happiest when he was woodworking, building turkey calls, repairing guns as a certified gunsmith or restoring classic vehicles and tractors.

Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Weaver Leonard; two daughters from a previous marriage, Carol L. Mills and Julie L. Dickerson; two granddaughters and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Lena Mae Leonard; and his brother, Timothy Leonard.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at The Mason Street Manor, 312 East Mason Street, Franklinton, NC, Sunday, October 28th at 2:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charity and condolences expressed to the family at cremationsocietync.com.
