FRANKLINTON - Esther Perry, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at her home in Franklinton. Funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. André Johnson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born in Franklinton, one of 12 children of the late Thomas Mason and Pattie Dunston Perry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Jimmie, John, and George; six sisters, Bettie Viola, Beulah Mabel Wormley, Pattie Simmons, Harriet Jewel Hicks, Mary Carolyn Carter, and Elaine Simpson.
Surviving: daughters, Jocelyn Perry Plummer of Winston-Salem and Phyllis E. Perry of Stem; brother, Eddie Lee Perry of Franklinton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
