FRANKLINTON--Shelton Taylor, 83, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 at WakeMed Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 20, at Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton.
He was born to the late Fannie L. Taylor and Donald Perry in Franklin County and was educated in the Franklin County Public School System. He was self-employed as a logger from 1965-1989 and continued to work until recently as a landscaper.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James E. Taylor.
Surviving: wife, Sarah F. Taylor; daughters, Ivy Taylor of Durham and Sheltonya Taylor of Zebulon; sons, Darryl Taylor of Durham and Vershawn Taylor of the home; sister, Gladys Jones of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
