DURHAM--Symathia Vernell Williams, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 in Durham. She was born to the late Walter Isham Williams and Mary Willie Perry in Franklinton. Service was held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Antioch Baptist Church, Durham, with the Rev. Michael D. Page officiating.
She was educated in the Franklin County Public School System and was a graduate of B. F. Person Albion High School in Franklinton.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby P. Munoz, and one brother, Constewart Williams.
Surviving: daughter, Jacqueline Stewart; one son, Willie Amponsah; two granddaughters and one grandson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Johnnie Holloway of Fayetteville, Carrie Williams of Franklinton, and Carolyn Jones and Shirley Perry, both of Louisburg; one brother, James Earl Williams (Dorthenia) of Wilmington.
