LOUISBURG--Funeral services for Mattie "Nuttie" Strickland, 95, who died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, will be held Friday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Rock Baptist Church in Castalia, with Pastor Sylvester White officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Rock Church cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, Sarah Crews (Jesse), Jean Strickland and Debra Gaye (Horace), all of Louisburg; sons, Thomas Strickland of Whitakers, William Calvin and Frederick Strickland, both of the home, Woodrow Strickland (Ella Mae) and Eddie Forrest Strickland (Lois), all of Louisburg, Grayland Strickland (Elizabeth) of Castalia; sisters, Emma Bullock and Edna Edgerton, both of Louisburg; brother, Phillip Alston of Perth Amboy, NJ; 31 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 31, from 3 until 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
