A. TRAVIS KEARNEY SR.

HENDERSON--Alan Travis Kearney Sr., 68, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Timothy J. Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Joseph Thomas Kearney and Dorothy Wright Kearney. He was retired from Revlon Inc. and was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving: his wife, Susan Bell Kearney; sons, Alan Travis Kearney Jr. and Clayton Thomas Kearney; daughter, Deanna Davis Karbas (Robert); a stepson, Toby Chappell (Caroline); and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry "Spike" Kearney.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home. All other times they will be at his home.

Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to New Sandy Creek Baptist Church "Family Life Center," 1699 Weldon's Mill Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
