JOHN S. AYSCUE

HENDERSON, NC -- John Scott Ayscue, 83, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late John Paul Ayscue and Wilma Overton Ayscue. He was the widower of Barbara Arrington Ayscue.

Mr. Ayscue was a retired farmer and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Bert Edgerton (Tammy); one daughter, Rachelle Wynne (Tim); five grandchildren, Mike Edgerton (Lisa), Kristin Edgerton (Chris), Chris Edgerton, Justin Glover (Lindsey), and Zack Morris (Tabitha); eight great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ace, and Axle Glover; Riley, Ayden, Levi, Sully Grey Edgerton; and Jace Morris; and one sister, Agnes Woodlief (R.O). In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Ayscue; and one granddaughter, Randi Blair Morris.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, September 18, 2021, at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Owens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Delores Woodard, 1312 Cheeks Quarter Road Henderson, NC 27537.
