EDGAR E. STRICKLAND
FUQUAY-VARINA – Edgar Earl Strickland, 75, died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007. A graveside service was held on Sept. 6 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina with the Rev. Horace Hamm officiating.

A native of Franklin County, he was born on Oct. 9, 1931 to the late H. Linwood and Helen Perry Strickland. He was predeceased by a brother, L. G. Strickland.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Sealey Strickland; three daughters, Kay Strickland Nunnery (Kevin) and Earlene Strickland Danko (Joseph), both of Raleigh, and Pam Strickland Parrish (Michael) of Chalybeate Springs; sisters, Cora Dell Denton of Bailey, Vurgia Windham of Wilson, Jean Roberts and Nell Jennings of Fayetteville, and Lois Cline of Rapid City, S.D.; brother Harold G. Strickland of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565, or United Hospice, 301 S. Church St., Suite 122, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

Arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Home, Fuquay-Varina.
