FRANKLINTON, NC--Joe Thomas, age 88, of Franklinton, died Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home. He was born July 26, 1933 in Yancey County, NC to the late Arnold and Pearl Gouge Thomas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers, and two sisters. Survivors: his wife of 68 years, Hazel Tart Thomas, three daughters; Contz Thomas of the home, Cindy Denny of Raleigh, and Darlene Tart and husband Donnie of Kittrell, one sister; Grace Allen of Burnsville, NC, and one granddaughter;
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Hunter officiating.
