Owen K. Tharrington Jr.
June 27, 1931 - February 14, 2023

LOUISBURG, NC - Owen Keith Tharrington Jr., 91, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Maria Parham Health. Born June 27, 1931, in Vance County, he was the son of the late Owen Keith Tharrington Sr., and Ruth Hoyle Tharrington and was the widower of Ann Petty Tharrington.

Owen was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He earned a degree in engineering from North Carolina State University and retired as a deputy commissioner from the North Carolina Department of Insurance. He was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa T. Bolton and husband, Bill of Louisburg; two step-daughters, Laura P. Hubbard and husband, Chris and Lisa Petty and husband, Rick Sullivan, both of Cary; five grandchildren; a brother, Jasper Tharrington of Henderson and a sister, Francis T. Alden and husband, Carter of Charlotte.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris T. Powers and two brothers, Benjamin Tharrington and Grady Tharrington.
