ALICE W. DORSEY

LOUISBURG, NC--Alice Wester Dorsey, of the White Level community, died Sunday afternoon, November 12, 2023 at the Retreat at Cary Corner Assisted Living facility.

Born June 7, 1940, Alice was the daughter of the late Forest Smith Wester and Merle Bailey Wester. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reginald Dorsey; brother Donald Wester; and sister Dorothy Champion.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, November 18, at Maple Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Alice is survived by her husband of 35 years, Rey Akkerman of Louisburg; son, Lawrence Dorsey and wife Holly of Albemarle; daughter, Allison Grant and husband Charlie of Raleigh; four grandchildren; step-children, Shawn Akkerman and Jill Akkerman; two step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
