LOUISBURG, NC --John McGruder Benton, 62, of Louisburg died Friday, April 26, 2024. He was born on June 13, 1961 to the late William James "Bill" and Mary Elizabeth "Betsey" Barnes Benton of Louisburg.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Bill Benton Jr. and his sister Elizabeth Benton Beck.
John is survived by his son, Chris Benton; his daughter, Blair B. Wade (Jacob); his sister, Mary Lynne Benton; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, with Rev. Tuck Taylor officiating at Louisburg United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St., Louisburg.
