CHARLES D. ROGERS
YOUNGSVILLE - Charles Douglas Rogers, 86, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Danny Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rogers was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Margaret Mikkelson Rogers and Harry Thomas Rogers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Thomas Rogers Jr. and Lawrence Rogers; sisters, Dorthea Pickard and Pauline Arnold. He was a retired mechanic with Raleigh East Airport in Knightdale and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving: his wife, Cathy Rogers; daughters, Shirley Carter (Robert) of Youngsville, Barbara Oxendine of Louisburg, Teresa Carter (Douglas) of Smithfield, Vickie Futch of Bunn, Brenda Brooks (Charles) of St. Paul’s; son, Danny C. Butler of Cary; sisters, Jane Brannan of Zebulon, Inga Grayson of Greensboro and Carrie Martin of Zebulon; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1543 Bethlehem Church Road, Youngsville, NC 27596.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest, NC 27587.
