KATIE B. HORTON (June 18, 1920 – October 29, 2007)
LOUISBURG – Katie Bell Horton, 87, of Louisburg, died Monday morning. Mrs. Horton was a daughter of the late John Bennett and Martha Hill Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Horton; son, Phillip Horton; sister, Elizabeth Horton; brothers, Tommy Horton, Isaac Horton, George Horton, Sam Horton, Tilman Horton, Grover Horton and John Horton. Mrs. Horton was a lifetime member of Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. James Horton and the Rev. John Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and James Hunt of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Ann Horton of Hillsborough; sister, Estelle Young of Louisburg; grandchildren, Beth Darnell, Beverly Davis, Jamie Jones, Marty Horton, Tammy Jackson, and Michele Matthews; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church, 929 M.C. Wilder Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg and other times at the home of Jamie Jones, 101 Sam Horton Road, Louisburg.
