Nashville, NC -- Funeral services for Rufus Taylor, age 73, who died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, will be held on Thursday, October 9, at 1 p.m. from the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville, NC with Rev. Douglas Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Born October 14, 1951, he is survived by his wife, Betty Taylor of Rocky Mt., NC; two daughters, Synthia Westry (Marcus) of Nashville, NC and Kimberly Gilliam (Lorenzo) of Newport News, VA; three sons, Rufus Taylor III of Rocky Mt., NC, Davie Lewis (Jessica) of Nashville, NC and Malcolm Wade of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Loraine Barnes of New Haven, CT, Bernice Marie Hewett (Lois) of Hyattsville, MD and Doris Leonard of Nashville, NC; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville, NC on Thursday, October 9, from 12 until 1 p.m.
