JAMES EDWARD BENNETT

HENDERSON, NC -- James Edward Bennett Jr., 95, of Henderson, was born on November 18, 1930, in Vance County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Suddie Heggie Bennett and James Edward Bennett, Sr. He died December 29, 2025, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Henderson, NC.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Darlene Byrd Bennett and one sister, Louise Bennett Perry.

Survivors include three sons, Rev. Edward M. Bennett (Ann) of Durham, NC, Milton O. Bennett (Barbara) of Henderson, NC, and Kermit L. Bennett of Morrisville, NC; two daughters, Angela B. Williams of Greensboro, NC and Turquious M. Byrd of the home; one sister, Mozelle B. Hawkins of Henderson, NC; twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grand children; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Eulogistic Services were Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Oxford, NC, at 12 Noon. Interment at H.L.L.B.G. Memorial Garden Cemetery, Creedmoor, NC, with Rev. Spotswood Burwell, Jr., and Pastor, Rev. Eardine Perry, Eulogist, officiating.
