Philadelphia, PA -- Funeral services for Henry Wadsworth Battle, Jr., age 84, who died on Saturday, February 7, 2026, were held on Sunday, February 22, at 12 p.m. from the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Louisburg, NC.

Born Nov. 9, 1941, survivors include his common law wife, Sarah Gary of Philadelphia, PA; two daughters, Shirley Gary and Karen Battle- Paul both of Philadelphia, PA; his sister, Maxine Thornton of Canton, GA; four brothers, Harold Battle of Rocky Mt., NC, Oscar Battle of Durham, NC, Michael Battle of Nashville, NC and Mitchell Battle of Johnson City, TN; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
